Audit St Helena – the Island’s external auditors – are moving offices and taking the opportunity to transform the way they work to be more efficient and effective.
After five successful years of working from the Post Office building in Jamestown the team are moving into the vacant New Porteous House on Main Street next to the Castle Gardens. To celebrate a fresh start they are opening up their new office to invited stakeholders on Friday 27th September 2019.
Phil Sharman the Chief Auditor says:
“The new location helps to underline the independence of the external auditor and my team and I are delighted with the improved working environment. We are always keen to practice what we preach and have carefully planned and saved up for the move. We are taking the opportunity to transform the way we work and make sure our work is more visible to the people of St Helena. For example, we are updating our staff training, improving information and communications technology, developing our working practices, updating our website and making our value for money reports more accessible and user-friendly. Our workload has expanded with the addition of Ascension Island Government and St Helena Airport Limited and we welcome interest from any experienced auditors or anyone interested in taking up audit or finance as a career. We have a great place to work and the future looks very bright.”
